Work on the new road junction, planned for this week end, has again been postponed due to an adverse weather forecast. This is singularly unfortunate, as the opening of the new junction was originally planned to coincide with the introduction of the new bus service, not all of which is pleasing everyone! The pity is that a disjointed bus service is not a fair test, and if only the new junction had opened on time we may have had fewer residents, understandably, questioning the viability and justification. My view has always been that we should see it in operation for a given period of time and judge it’s success or otherwise on a real and fair trial. Currently that is not possible.
The service will be withdrawn if it does not make money and the County Council will stop the current subsidy if few people use it.
I am told that it will probably be another 4 weeks at least before the junction is likely to be opened…well behind schedule.
