It is announced that the Police Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall is about to move office ( a distance of a few 100 yards ) at a cost of £500,000. This is the same man who only a few weeks ago closed Newton Abbot Police Station front desk, cutting the peoples direct face to face contact with the police; the same man cutting 140 front line police officers? Crazy? Madness? Fundamentally wrong?
The Conservatives seem very keen to keep this “new” position; I’m very keen to get shot ….
Not only does this man have a new office and a large salary, he employs, so I believe, 23 others all of whom need paying….and for what??? This is the politics of the mad house with the lunatics in charge. There are times when I really think insanity has taken over…this is one such time. However, come May 7th some will go on voting for madness…..
I too think I can see the emperor’s willy. This post (Crime Commissioner, not your message) is yet another example of many peoples’ and politicians’ belief that all we need is a “Great Man” or woman to get things done and progress our civilisation. From God to Presidents, Mayors to Chief Executives, Generals to General Managers, the childlike notion that Big Daddy will sort things out, or Mummy will make things better, prevails in many folk’s conscious (or more dangerously) unconscious minds. We’ll retain vainglorious emperors in one way or another until we all grow up…
