The meeting announced in the previous blog re the establishment of a local organisation ready and able to respond to humanitarian crises is fixed for next Friday, September 11th at The Avenue Church Hall. at 7 PM. Doors open from 6.30 for light refreshments and “chat”. The purpose of the meeting is to try and bring together all interested parties, from whatever backgrounds and experiences, to give local residents the opportunity to volunteer in a coordinated , organised way and help specifically with the current refugee crises. If you are interested, but can’t make that meeting, please let either Rev Jon Doble at the Avenue Church or myself know of your willingness to help. Come along and learn how you might help and perhaps volunteer. You will be made most welcome. We look forward to seeing and hearing from you.
