The major building work that is well under way off Windsor Avenue on Buckland ( Hawthorn Close/Way??) with 133 homes scheduled is obviously producing numerous movements of large delivery vehicles. I have been aware for sometime of the damage these are doing to Haytor Drive, but another issue has now been raised with me which I have now brought to the attention of Teignbridge officers in the hope that something positive can be done.
I am reliably informed that some of the 44 tonne HGVs are getting lost, not finding the correct route to the development site and trying to gain access via Frobisher Road. When they realise they have gone wrong they are using residents driveways to reverse and turn around. This is causing damage to driveways with the potential for more…the sheer weight of a 44 tonne lorry is likely to cause problems. I am asking for all delivery drivers to be given better instructions and also signage warning them not to use Frobisher Road. That said I can do nothing of course til after the Bank Holiday, when council officers return to work.
