I was amazed to learn a few weeks back that the yellow zig zag lines o/s our schools are advisory and not mandatory ie not legally enforceable.  Basically, to become mandatory they need improved signage. At Thursdays Devon County Council meeting I asked questions about numerous issues and one was about the car parking o/s schools. The answer I received was really quite encouraging, as some money has apparently been put aside for up grading as necessary, and this will be further debated at another committee. Now I realise that is all very slow moving, and no one is more conscious of that than me, as I want things done yesterday. However, that is the way government works, and I regard the answer given as encouraging. I shall of course be following this up and prioritising Newton Abbot schools in my arguments!
