As I have said on many occasions, perhaps the biggest single issue residents complain to me about is traffic related in one form or another. Lonsdale Road is a small and narrow road in my ward, which has undoubtedly suffered as a consequence of ever expanding parking restrictions elsewhere in the vicinity and steadily increasing car ownership.
The road is used as a free car park during the day by either workers in town or commuters. As a consequence little or no room is left for residents to enter/exit their own drive ways. I fully understand the growing frustration of the residents and I am trying to get a consensus on what residents feel would best suit their needs and resolve the problem…double yellow lines? single yellow lines? Residents Parking Scheme? I’m very keen to hear from residents and attempt to make progress, but these things do tend to take far too long to resolve. I have no wish to impose anything on anyone, hence the need to clarify residents wishes.
