Next Friday is Carers Rights Day. An estimated 6.5 million people provide unpaid care to family or friends in the UK, approx. 90,000 here in Devon. ( excluding Plymouth and Torbay) Numerous events are planned around Devon in the coming days, details of which can be found by calling 03456 434 435.
The work that carers do is incredibly important, and far too often undervalued.
Local activities this week include Bovey Youth Café Friday 24th November 10.30 to 1.30pm answering questions on Power of Attorney, Trusts, Court of Protection, Care Planning, while this Monday (20th) at Dawlish Community Hospital from 2 til 4 pm a session on Carers Rights and general related information. If Totnes is more suitable, then an event along similar lines is planned for Friday (24th) between 10am and 2 pm at the Seven Stars Hotel. All are welcome to attend.
