I have now got agreement from Teignbridge Council that they will clean the Penn Inn subway, provided Devon County agree, as it is their wall. This is very welcome and a good start, but of course cleaning is of little use of itself, as no sooner is the wall cleaned of graffiti than the anti social squad move in and re “decorate” the wall. Therefore, I am asking Teignbridge to engage with Devon to see if the two councils can find very small sums of money ( though I confess that at this stage I have no idea what amount we are talking about ) to re paint straight after cleaning…with anti graffiti paint. I am hoping Devon County Council Highways department will cooperate and share in some joint working.
