WHY IS NO WORK TAKING PLACE ON TORQUAY ROAD???

by admin on 5 September, 2018

I fully understand and appreciate that roads need to be repaired, as do bridges, and if they are in any danger of falling down, then they need to be removed pdq.
However, these works on Torquay Road should be undertaken in as short a time as is practical IMO, to avoid any unnecessary frustration for those using our roads.
I am disappointed therefore that the bridge works on the Torquay Road seem to have come to a stand still. No work was going on yesterday or today when I drove past, and that is simply not good enough. At times huge hold ups are being caused and frustration is mounting, understandably so! With the schools starting back within hours, these delays, certainly at specific times in the day, can only get worse.
I have therefore written to the County Council asking what is going on and why isn’t it “going on” rather quicker.
The first highways officer didn’t know as it wasn’t his job, the second, to whom I was re directed, is on leave and the third hasn’t replied yet…but I live in hope.
I want these works completed pdq, but the job seems to have been neglected. Not good enough in my book.
