Encouraging Signs

by admin on 8 September, 2018

Driving back from a Lib Dem street stall event in Teignmouth this morning I witnessed two really encouraging actions from members of the public. Firstly, a gent walking up Bitton Park Road picked up a plastic bottle and secondly a car driver, having crossed the Teign Bridge short of Penn Inn, pulled over and gathered up a large quantity of litter blowing in the breeze back on the bridge. I know neither of them, but it was so good to see others doing something I sometimes do ( OK, not often enough) but hope others will copy. As local authorities seem less and less capable of performing the “simple” tasks of keeping our area clean and tidy, so we, the general public, can play a part by picking up and removing bits of litter. Just think if we all brought home just 2 or 3 pieces of street litter every time we went out, what a huge difference that could make to our street scene.
