I met a Newton Abbot lady of 91 this morning while helping with a Lib Dem stall in the Triangle at Teignmouth.
She tells a lovely story of how not only does she always vote, but that when she first had the vote she voted as her husband told her ( that must have been a long time ago). She felt compelled to do so. She then read about some policy or other being advocated by the Liberal Party of the time, and in the secrecy of the polling booth voted against her husbands instruction by voting for what she thought was a good idea, for what she believed in…and has done so ever since. I don’t think she ever told her husband, now long dead apparently, but at 91 she not only votes for us, but is still delivering Lib Dem leaflets. Quite a woman!!
