Double Yellow Lines. Can any go???

by admin on 13 November, 2018

I get fairly regular requests for more DYLs in various places and have usually ( sometimes eventually) been able to persuade officers of their merit. However, it isn’t simply a question of getting more and more DYLs. The more that are provided, the less parking spaces there are for those that need them, and the domino effect ensures the parking problem is simply moved elsewhere. I am asking therefore if you know of any DYLs which you may think are no longer needed. The point being that these lines can be removed as well as added. Can I ask that you take a look around town on your travels and let me know if not only more are needed, but where they might be considered for removal? Many thanks as ever for your thoughts and contributions. I do value all comment that comes my way. gordon.hook45@gmail.com

  1. Tom Keen says:

There are places where vehicles seem always parked on DYLs, as at the end of Courtenay Street before the car ark, outside Wrights stationers etc. I’ve never driven through there without both sides of the street being fully parked on. If the DYLs are not enforced, they may as well be removed…
