St Marychurch 30mph

I am disappointed and frustrated that the successful implementation of the new speed limit on St Marychurch Road is taking so long to introduce, Could the “sluggishness” have anything to do with the officers being opposed to it from day one I can only wonder??
However, I have been given assurances that it will be fully “up and running” in or by February. ( I think they mean February 2019!) The champagne is on ice!

Gordon, every day my dog and I have to risk crossing this road from Milber Woods to Newtake Rise (opposite your and Colin Parker’s bus-stop paving). It’s a scary job, as the traffic races around the bend, downhill, invisibly from the Torquay direction. I’ll invite the jobsworth officers to join me, as a bit of research, and give them a well-timed gentle shove…

Which is exactly why the new lower limit is urgently needed. As it doesn’t fit the established criteria officers have been particularly reluctant to agree the change, but it is coming I am assured and not before time. A campaign which Jackie can recall probably started in the 80’s when she lived in Twickenham Road…..”if at first you don’t succeed….etc” I’m pleased that we have now got it this far, and hope police will enforce.
