“We need advice…..that is clear, regular and unequivocal”

The strong advice I have been given to pass on is, never mind how well-meaning and well-intentioned, DO NOT ORGANISE OR BE PART OF a “visitation team”. This is the worst possible thing to do, as you may well be spreading the virus to the most vulnerable, which of course is the very last thing intended.
Instead, phone contacts and ask if help is needed; take shopping orders over the phone for instance, and if online shopping is a practical solution organise that for the person you are trying to help. My phone numbers are 07779 224467   /   01626 362070 and if you need help which you think I can provide, please don’t hesitate to call. I will do whatever I can.
Think carefully before implementing well-meaning but dangerous activity.

The daftest thing I heard yesterday was if you have the symptoms, self isolate but check on elderly Neighbours to see if they are OK.
If you have the virus and go and check on your ”elderly” neighbours, you might well give it to them… Crazy….

      Quite so.
Another crazy thing emerging is the dotty idea of putting a red ribbon on the door or gate of a vulnerable person.
There are rotten people out there who will welcome the invitation to exploit a vulnerable person.
DO NOT USE A RED RIBBON. Another stupid idea from a well-meaning but unthinking individual.
