I’m pleased to say that the recycling centres in Devon ( ie Brunel Road here in Newton Abbot) will be re-opening next Monday. GOOD NEWS!!
The traffic will be signposted to Minerva Way rather than the normal entrance/exit, so that vehicles getting to and from the Teignbridge recycling depot will not be obstructed.
The last time these sites were open staff were subjected to unacceptable abuse. People were spitting at them and coughing at them. This is totally unacceptable behaviour and any repetition will see the closure of the sites, as safety of all remains of paramount importance. Social distancing measures will be enforced and all are asked to cooperate and act sensibly.
The potential for chaos is high and if your visit to the centre is not considered critical, please consider delaying. Inevitably there will be considerable traffic generated and long queues are expected.

All that said, this is good news as many have been asking when the sites will be back in use…next Monday it is!
