General Election Feedback; A Good Day’s Work!

by admin on 27 May, 2017

A good day on the campaign trail today.
Some delivery, some canvassing done.
Canvassing produced favourable returns here in Newton Abbot as you might expect I suppose after the County Council results of a couple of weeks back, when we held one seat with almost 2/3rds of the vote and gained the other from the Conservatives. It was encouraging to note the awareness of at least some to the tactical vote argument where by voting Labour helps keep a Conservative MP in this constituency, just as voting anything other than Labour in Exeter, for instance, would help the Conservatives regain that seat.
In Newton Abbot if you want a Conservative, then vote Conservative ( but please know what you are voting for). If you don’t want a Conservative, THE ONLY VOTE IS LIB DEM…any other vote…for Labour or Green…is a vote to help the Conservative Party candidate. You don’t think so? Look at the figures for the most recent local elections, the evidence is as plain as the proverbial pike staff. Ask yourself what is the best use of my one vote. The two Labour party ( card carrying members no less!) households I visited today know the answer and are doing the right thing…voting Lib Dem. They are both displaying Lib Dem posters, they understand and feel that strongly about getting rid of the Conservative. Can you risk doing anything else?
The intelligent voter must vote intelligently.
