Todays PMQs saw the normal “planted” questions from Conservative MPs with prepared answers for the PM to respond with.
It was particularly interesting to note that the first 2 backbencher questions from Conservative MPs were both about house building numbers. While details remain to be announced it was pleasing to note Ms Truss announcing that local authorities and local people were best placed to know how many houses should be built within their local areas. Local people making decisions about local issues. HALLELUJAH to that!!!
This is very much Liberal Democrat thinking and what I used for years when fighting against central government imposed housing numbers. It will be very interesting to learn the detail of their new thinking ( yes, another “U” turn, and not before time. Very welcome too !!!)
