Complaints are coming into me re the apparent increase in dogs mess on Buckland estate.
It is simply not acceptable that owners do not pick up after their dogs, irrespective of where it is…Buckland or Bognor! I know and accept that many/most dog owners are responsible and do the necessary, but a few aren’t and spoil for everyone.
I have asked for a more visible Dog Warden presence on Buckland, but of course Teignbridge is a huge area, and he can’t be everywhere at once. Consequently, if you know any dog owner who allows their dog to foul our streets and pavements and does not clean up after them, please report to Teignbridge Council. ( 01626 362070)
I live in Buckland, and I very rarely come across any dog-mess (except hanging decoratively from trees). Are there specific areas affected? If so, where? Couldn’t they be patrolled by officers with very little to do, now that budgets have been so slashed?
I received negative comments over the week end about the bridge being badly “visited”, and adjacent areas. I have requested increased officer presence, and help from the public to report any witnessed incidents to TDC. Prosecutions do occur, but nothing like enough IMO.
